Professional Background / Clinical Experience

I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck,
University of London which is accredited by the British Psychoanalytical Council (BPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  In addition, I also hold a BSc (Hons.) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which is also accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Both courses have enriched my clinical work/knowledge by allowing me to practice with a wide variety of presenting concerns/issues.

I am a BACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I believe my intensive training which has spanned over a course of six years along with other counselling and psychotherapy short certification courses provides me with the expertise to offer you a secure and bespoke therapeutic service whilst utilising my learnt and lived experience.

I have regular clinical supervision and have undergone personal psychotherapy as a training requirement. I continually read books, articles and journals and attend professional development courses and events to build on my practice and keep up to date with developments in counselling and psychotherapy.

Research and Development

I also maintain an active interest in counselling research/continuing professional development . Some of my training courses have been related to working with couples in a therapeutic setting, domestic violence/abuse, coaching and mentoring. Others have been more focused on pregnancy and pregnancy loss, fertility, traumata, working with suicidal clients, safeguarding, relaxation techniques i.e. mindfulness. I would like to think that I keep abreast of my professional practice and provide the best service I possibly can to all my clients.

Whilst I work with most areas of psychological and emotional health, I have a particular interest in the areas of pregnancy, pregnancy loss and fertility issues. In the past, I had offered my services as a psychotherapist/
at a pregnancy loss charity and currently offer my services to an NHS General Medical Practice in London.
Previous Experience
Prior to working and training in counselling and psychotherapy.  One of my roles was as a Mentor and Tutor to women who had experienced a loss of career direction or who were experiencing difficulty settling into the UK from their place of origin. In previous roles, I have over ten years of experience of working in specialist contractual roles which entailed Health and Safety, Project Management and Information Technology Projects both in the private, public and charity sectors.

All of this experience combined allows me to work with clinical expertise as a trusted counsellor and psychotherapist whilst being aware of current developments within the therapeutic field.
